Can You Hear Me Now?!

Whew! Well, that was a crazy month...
Sorry for the long absense, there was a storm, and then there was no firewall, and then there was no money for the kind of big fancy firewall tech-savvy folks like us need... then there was a firewall, but no massive surge protection (we've blown through two of these hum-dingers already from storms... Grrr...) And then there was a week with my 4 year old in the hospital with double pneumonia, again... and then I was tired...

I'm still tired, but I figure since I try to tell my kids to get up and get back to it, to push themselves a little further than they think they can go, and to stay on task until said task is completed (notice I did say try to tell me kids these things,) well, I guess I better lead by example.

When we last met, we were in the midst of a contest. In fact, it was the night before I was to announce the winner of said contest when the storm that blew the last firewall hit. We've had a few crazy storms this season... Well, I've gone and done picked myself a random winner- drumroll.....................................
and the lucky winner is- Catherine, of yogurt & granola! And, how fun, it's a fellow Minnesotan (she'll understand the storms, I'm pretty sure...)

I loved reading the entries for this contest. Our knitting stories were so varied, with so many differing experiences relating to the learning of the same skill/art.

Well, as I haven't been sleeping much lately, my eyes are droopy, my thoughts are slow, and I'm experiencing more typos per minute than I can stand... I'll try to get back on knitting track tomorrow... until then,

Happy knitting-
ali

Yes, she's finally back online! The firewall was fixed about a month ago, but I didn't realize my ISP had blocked FTP, hence, no blog publishing! All is well now! Blog away! Man, I can't type anymore either.

Glad you're back Ali!! Sounds like a grueling month, and I know those storms were horrid--my friend's flower farm in SW Wisconsin (the place I visited in July) is flooded and under water:(

Hello! Here I am! I saw that you didn't get my email with my address for the contest goodies. I just sent another email to you, let me know (on my blog!) if you don't get it and we'll try something else! But thanks, thanks again for having such a fun contest! :)

Fellow Minnesotan here, glad you survived the barrage of storms that have hit our fair state, was worried for you for a while. I'm up north so we didn't get them as bad but we felt for everyone down south especially the ones who were without power for so long. My cousin was one, she lost power and the day she got it back the next storm hit. Gotta love Minnesota!

Welcome back. I've been posting but missing from getting out there and reading everybody else's blogs. Ravelry took up a chunk a time so it FELT like I was missing in action. At least it wasn't as trying for me as it was for you. Awful when kids are sick. Even more so than computers. Hope all is well now.

Miss seeing you blog. I have to say thanks, it is because of you that I have picked up my needle in earnest and have been knitting up a storm. I have knit my first sweater this summer(because of your contest with summer knitting goals), I have joined a sock KAL and have been knitting a sock a month for the last couple of months. My yarn stash has grown by leaps and bounds. I have made two nursing shawls for a couple of friends of mine and I am getting things ready for our churches craft fair next month. I am going to attempt wool soakers next.(after October socks are done) This has been very relaxing and fun. Thank you Thank you Thank you
